ronnie bailey
passed away peacefully in his sleep on the 24th feb 2008 aged 58.
he lived in bexley , kent.
he had a daughter-sammy and 2 sons - charlie and danny. he had a loving family with 2 sisters and 1
brother and parents that were with him til the end caring for his every need.
cancer finally got the better of him.
ronnie (tiger) was full of fun , made everyone laugh with is famous sense of humour.
ronnie had a love for music and would listen to all sorts of classics, he was a talented ,
knowledgable man with an answer for everything , which is why so many people admired him. he was
honest and very much a family man. he didnt need to tell his children he was proud of them... he
would just wink.. that was enough.
ronnie was my dad. i suppose in a way , i am carrying on his legacy as i am often compared to him.
my favourite memory is friday nights, he would bring home macdonalds for us all without fail and
sweets. that was my favourite day of the week.
he had his way of dealing with us back then , like if he wanted to watch a certain programme on
telly , he would lick a fiver and stick it on my head and say if that is still there whan this has
finished , you can keep it!! i have never sat so still in all my life!!
my dad loved having his feet tickled , he would pay us a pound to do it, i would always try to
sneak off half way through and then his foot would wiggle. he always got away with a full hour!!
my dad taught me to swim , well , kind of!! he took us to the swimming baths at elephant and castle
and chucked me off the top of the big slide.!
there are so many memories , i could go on and on.
all i can say is that i will miss him more than ever and i hope he is up there looking down and
feeling proud of his acheivements because everyone he met , he touched there hearts. love you dad
xx
if anyone has any memories of my dad , please share them on this site. x

Thinking of you!
Sam, Craig, Brooke leigh and family - I'm so sorry for your loss. I know you must be devestated and you will miss him dearly, but you must celebrate his as you would all not be where you are today without him. I know it's hard not to feel sad but you must remember that he will be in a much better place and at peace. I am thinking of you all at this very sad time.
Lots of love

Memories
Well Ron I hope you have met up with my little Sister Lianne, Im sure she ill show you around! My memories of you...hmm let me see, well I first met Sammy at drama college and then I met you when I used to come home with Sammy, I remember you always cracking jokes and being a wind up merchant! I also remember you playing guitar and Sammy singing along, another memory that sticks in my mind is when Sammy and Danny sang endless love together, you had that proud dad look in your eye, the ever talanted family and that is all down to you. God bless and take care, god always takes the best! xxxxxx

All our love. xx
My earliest memory is standing at the back of some pub/club watching Ron & uncle Mick (Lawsy) playing music, it was rock'n'roll.........that always stayed with me and U can bet ya bottom dollor the pair of them are up there now, propping up some bar causing mischief.
So sorry to hear this sad news
Im Amandas mum and we exchanged house with you and Jackie Ron im still here we still have your fireplace with the peace sign embedded at the top, like Amanda remember your music and still sometimes use your phrase there is no dark side to the moon.. Not seen you for a long while but never forgotten you. xxx
We\'ll always remember you Ron
Ron was my Godfather, I was christened when I was thirteen, with my two brothers Terry and Matthew and Rons children, Charlie, Danny and Sammy. We were all very close when we were kids and Ron and Jackie asked my mum and dad if they could be my Godparents. I remember Rons furry boots and really cool cars! Whenever he was listening to music he would pass the headphones round so you could hear the lyrics of verses that had meant something more to him. There is no dark side of the moon Ron, and I'll always remember that it was you who told us that.xxxxx
....kin .ansome
Well Ronnie, you are probably wondering what all this is about. You've made it and got your own ...kin webpage!
If you knew Ronnie you will know that 'kin' was just one of his sayings. I first met Ronnie some 30 years ago when I started going out with his little bruv, Geoff. Going round to Ronnies for the evening usually meant we would be up until the wee hours of the morning having lots of cups of tea and his special recipe cakes!!!! which made you feel very chilled out and relaxed. I wonder what the ingredients were!!!
Ronnie music influenced all of us and we all had the great albums of 'Supertramp, Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac and Budgie' in our collections. However, imagine my surprise when going through Ronnies albums last week we came across such classics as 'Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Band' laying next to 'Shape your bum and tum' by Felicity Kendall!! The same thing happened with the books (god, where did they all come from Ronnie. You must have been Readers Digests greatest customer!!). The titles ranged from '50 ways to kill a slug' to 'The Complete Works of Shakespeare'.
Another influence you had on us was your taste in decor. I think all of us at some stage had an indian carpet on the wall with a tiger on and paintings of ships and boats. You always had great ashtrays too, especially the marble one in the shape of a foot. You also made the 'grandad collared shirts' famous long before David Essex started wearing them.
Your brilliant sense of humour kept all of our spirits up when we were at the house last week as we all kept finding little notes and anecdotes in particular the diary you kept when you looked after Mum's dog, Bill, and the way you described the number of 'poops' he had done made us laugh and cry at the same time. The strength and courage you had during the last year made us all feel quite humble, yet you never complained and made us all so proud. Now you are at peace and I'm sure you are looking down and reading all these lovely tributes and saying to yourself 'NICE ONE'! We will miss you loads.xxxxxxxxxxxx
LEGEND
Uncle ronny was a legend in my eyes. he always managed to make something out of nothing. where there's a will there's a way. I owe a lot to my uncle. he taught so much about music, especially the drums. I am the drummer i am today because of him. He taught me that music is more than something to listen to. every track has a story behind it. Even without any words. We would sit there (just as him and my dad in their younger days) and listen to music for hours. every now and then he would lash out as if he was back behaind the drum kit. (its where he belonged).Ialways wanted to get me and uncle Ron together behind a kit each and spend forever just lashing out some serious beats. i guess that day will never happen now. (i can only but dream). Im back behind the kit now days so i can only hope he's up there watching and listening lashing out with me to every mad hard beat. im gonna miss you uncle ron you will never be forgotten. you will always play i big part in my life.
